FlashTape magneto-optical emulation

The Avax SCSI Magneto-Optical drive is a unit that emulates a standard SCSI MO drive and stores the data to industry standard Compact Flash (CF) cards.

Some applications are written to only operate with a specific type of drive, which yields a problem when the drive fails and cannot be repaired. The Avax unit appears to the host system as a Fujitsu (or optionally other manufacturer’s unit) to provide ‘plug & play’replacement of the MO unit.


The Avax SCSI Magneto-Optical drive is available as a 3.5 or 5.25 inch tray mount unit or optionally as a standalone desktop unit. 

FEATURES

• Small format PCB converts Compact Flash Media to appear as aSCSI Magneto Optic device on a Host’s SCSI bus
• Tray mounted PCB which will replace any 3.5” or 5.25” MagnetoOptical drive
• Can be mounted into a 3.5" or  5.25” disk slot using the same mountings
• SCSI Host will see the device as a Magneto Optic drive of any emulation
• Board is low power, using 5Volts only, and has an optional add-on display and push button user interface
• Microcode is field upgradeable via integral serial port
